Motsepe will sponsor the league through the Motsepe Foundation and it will be known as the ABC Motsepe League, named after his late father.
Patrice Motsepe announced on the night how some of the money would be spent.
The overall winners of the competition each season will receive prize money of R1 million (R800 00 will go to the club, with the other R200 000 to aid youth development), and the runners-up will get R500 000.
The Player of the Year award will be known as the Kaizer Motaung Player Of The Year Award, and the winner will get R150,000.
