The Siya crew can reveal that Kaizer Chiefs legend, Nelson 'Teenage' Dladla, has been roped into the Mamelodi Sundowns junior structures.
Dladla is considered a legendary figure in South African football, having served Chiefs with distinction and loyalty during the club's formative years. His dribbling skills endeared him to the best, and is regarded as one of the best players of his generation.
In recent years, he has been involved in several football-related projects and it has now been confirmed that he is currently working as Sundowns' U13 assistant coach, working closely with Joel 'Fire' Masilela, who is the head coach.
Masilela told the crew, "Yes, he's here as my assistant coach. To be honest, it's an honour and a privilege to be working with somebody who was my idol and role model. It's a blessing. When I grew up, I called myself Teenage Dladla and I wanted to be like him. Life has its own miracles. I never knew that one day I would see him, let alone have him as my colleague.
"Sundowns is a wonderful club and the president, Patrice Motsepe, has always emphasised that we mustn't get rid of the legends. They laid the foundation in our football. Teenage is here to share his knowledge with the kids and the rest of us," he added.
In addition, the crew has been reliably informed that the club's U13 team has not officially been launched, but have been recruiting players for next season.
