Orlando Pirates Lead The Race To Land Three Bidvest Wits Players

Orlando Pirates are currently the frontrunners in the race to land three Bidvest Wits players.

As reported in issue number 1020 of Soccer Laduma, Pirates have strengthened their interest in Ben Motshwari and Jabulani Shongwe and the Siya crew has since learnt that Phumlani Ntshangase is the third Wits player to make the list for potential transfer targets for the Buccaneers.

Mamelodi Sundowns have also been linked to Motshwari in the past and as reported in last week's edition of Soccer Laduma, the Siya crew has been informed by a source that the Bucs seem to be leading the race to acquire the signing of the 26-year-old.

Ntshangase on the other hand, has been a transfer target for Kaizer Chiefs in the past and Pirates could also tip their cross-city rivals to his signature.

Shongwe is another player who has been linked to both the Soweto giants due to his struggle for game-time with the Clever Boys.

Should Pirates look to make advances for these players, the club will have to table an offer for both Motshwari and Ntshangase as they are still under contract to Wits, while Shongwe's deal is set to expire at the end of the 2016/17 season.

However, the Students have an added option on Shongwe's deal and it remains to be seen whether the club will look to exercise the option or if the player will be able to leave on a free at the end of the campaign.
