Burnley manager Scott Parker has hinted South African striker Lyle Foster could be used in a new role for the Championship side in England, following a strong performance in a recent FA Cup match against Reading.
Foster, who recently returned from an injury, opened the scoring in the 3-1 victory over Reading, and his contribution has caught the attention of Parker, who believes the 23-year-old could play an even more prominent role on the left side of attack.
In the match against Reading, Foster played on the left side of attack, a position he had not featured in regularly before. However, his performance in that role was impressive, and Parker has suggested that this could become a more frequent position for the young striker moving forward.
"Lyle can operate on that left-hand side," Parker said after the win.
"I was hugely impressed with how he did against Reading. The last few weeks we have been seeing a different version of Lyle as he gets up to speed. He gives us another option on the left."

Foster's versatility has been one of his key assets since joining Burnley, and Parker's comments suggest that the manager is looking to tap into this flexibility.
The 23-year-old has primarily been used as a central striker, but his ability to play on the left side of attack could offer Burnley more attacking options, especially as they look to maintain their push for promotion back to the Premier League.
His performance against Reading, where he not only scored but also provided a constant threat from the left, is a clear indication of his potential in that position. With Parker's words suggesting a more prominent role on the left flank, Foster will be eager to prove that he can be just as effective in a wider attacking role as he is through the middle.
