Nabi Answers On The Big No. 9 Issue At Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi is banking on the international break to work on problem areas after Amakhosi suffered their ninth defeat of the season on Sunday.

The Soweto giants were beaten 2-0 by Richards Bay at King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium, remaining in eighth place on the Betway Premiership standings, with eight matches to go.

Amakhosi have registered just one win in their last five league matches, and Nabi is looking forward to the international break to work on areas of concern.

"I think we play games every three days and there is not really much you can work on when you play every three days. It's true that we have been struggling in that area and we hope that with the international break, where we can work on certain things," he said via his interpreter Cedric Kaze after the game against the Natal Rich Boys.

In the last five league matches, the Soweto giants have scored just two goals. They are wasting a number of opportunities upfront, which the coach himself was critical of.

Asked if he will be looking for a number nine next season, the North African said: "I think the answer of the question will come after the end of the season after having assessed the squad and what it needs."

Later during the post match press conference, Nabi explained that building the team takes time.

"We are in the process of rebuilding and a big team like Chiefs is not built in six or seven months. You need more time than that. We know exactly what we need to have a better team."

Amakhosi's next league match will be on March 30 against Golden Arrows.
