Three years into his Cape Town City stay since joining from Orlando Pirates, Mpho Makola has had his future decided at the Mother City outfit as his previous contract was coming to an end.
Makola has made 22 appearances in the DStv Premiership for the Citizens in the 2021/22 season and has been influential in the team finishing in second place on the log.
The experienced attacking midfielder has been with the club since 2019, and the one-year contract extension that he signed last year was set to expire at the end of this month. City have handed the 36-year-old another one-year contract extension, as Eric Tinkler's side prepares to campaign in the CAF Champions League next season.
"Mpho Makola has signed a new contract at the club. Bibo extends his stay until June 2023. Integral figure in the City Camp!" the Citizens confirmed on the club's official Twitter account.
