It was revealed on the Soccer Laduma web and mobi-site earlier today (Tuesday) that the potential sale of Stars to Swallows has been agreed in principle, subject to preconditions being met.
Now, sources have indicated that the league has assessed the situation and approved the transaction to go through, with a consortium of investors involved in the deal likely to be the club's new owners, ahead of the new season.
As things stand at the moment, all that the parties need to do is to sign off the documents and finalise all the administrative work for the sale to be completed.
Swallows were relegated from the PSL to the NFD at the end of the 2014/15 season. Following a disastrous campaign in South Africa's second division in 2015/16, the Dube Birds saw things go from bad to worse as the side was relegated to the ABC Motsepe League.
