Gavin Hunt's side find themselves just four points adrift of league leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns, with seven games to go, and will be buoyed by the knowledge that they still have to face the Brazilians.
Josephs, who has been a bedrock at the heart of Wits' title challenge, believes that the club's critics make them stronger as a side and spur them on to do better.
Speaking to Wits' official website, Josephs said, "You know what? We need them (critics). If there is no one who is going to try to hold you back, you will lose your way. As a team we always need to be reminded of them saying 'You are never going to do it, you will never win the league.' Those kinds of people motivate us all.
"The negative comments are one of our biggest driving points. As a club we have always been underestimated, we don't need the critics to think much of our chances, what matters is what we think of ourselves when we walk out on to the pitch."
Josephs has kept more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper in the league this season (11), and also has the second highest percentage of clean sheets to games (50%) – of regular 'keepers – behind Masandawana's Denis Onyango (9 from 17 – 52.9%).
The 35-year-old will be hoping to keep up his form in the coming weeks as Hunt's side battle it out for silverware in both the Absa Premiership and the Nedbank Cup.
