Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Mike Mangena thinks that Bernard Parker should consider hanging up his boots, with the forward's best years now behind him.
Mangena: The Boys Were Nervous
The 30-year-old has enjoyed a trophy-laden career, including 72 caps for South Africa, but only managed to score two league goals in the 2015/16 campaign, which is why Mangena thinks he should consider hanging up his boots.
"They need to look at Bernard Parker. Parker has done it, he's had a fantastic career, he's done well," Mangena told Soccer Laduma.
"But it's time to say: 'Hey, let me hang up those boots.'"
Shongwe: Chiefs Aren't A Bad Team
Mangena explained that he thinks it's time for Chiefs to start blooding youngsters and give them a platform to take over from the former FC Twente player.
"I'm not one to tell him what to do, but the coach needs to play the youngsters now, because I don't see Bernard Parker making any difference as a player."
