The announcement about the appointment of an assistant coach is happening for a second at the Port Elizabeth outfit this week.
On Tuesday, The Chilli Boys announced that Floyd Mogale would be assisting Malesela, despite the Siya crew having revealed that the former Mamelodi Sundowns development coach is no longer with the club.
Chippa has issued a press release confirming more technical team changes.
Sambu takes over as assistant coach
Retired Chippa United defender Mbuyiselo Sambu has been named assistant coach to Dan Malesela effective from 09 December.
Former assistant coach Floyd Mogale turned down the opportunity to assist Mr. Malesela, but remains with the Chillli Boys within the development structures.
The Peddie-born 32-year old, has 13 years experience as a player in top-flight football, having played for the likes of Platinum Stars, Free State Stars and Bloemfontein Celtic. We believe that he will add value to the technical team. He is a local lad with strong ties to the province and as a former player, has already established relationships with the players and the supporters.
The club's boss, Siviwe 'Chippa' Mpengesi expressed delight in giving Sambu a chance to begin learning about coaching with his team in the PSL.
"We are delighted to give Sambu this opportunity. He brings with him a wealth of experience and already holds a leadership position in the dressing room. He is a role model to many youngsters in the province and his humility will hold him in good stead," said Mpengesi.
With technical team changes happening at an alarming rate, it remains to be seen if suspended head coach Roger Sikhakhane will continue coaching the side this season.
