England defender Trent Alexander-Arnold announced that he will be leaving the current English Premier League champions at the end of the season.
Spanish giants Real Madrid have pursued his signature and he has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the team, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.
Reports from Spanish publication AS revealed that Liverpool would be open to allowing the defender to leave before his contract officially expires on 30 June 2025 under certain conditions.
The publication reported that Alexander-Arnold would need to forgo his June salary, meaning he would lose out on roughly £180,000 per week (R4.4 million), approximately £720,000 for the month (R17.5 million).
The other condition includes that Real Madrid would pay a 'compensation fee' of roughly €1 million (R20.6 million) to allow the number 66 to join the Los Blancos.
Real Madrid's desperation to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold stems from the club's desire to register him for the FIFA Club World Cup.
