Former SuperSport United and Platinum Stars left Luvolwethu Mpeta has expressed his delight at making a return after a two-year absence from professional football.
Mpeta, 31, has signed a contract with GladAfrica Championship side Tshakhuma Tsha Madizvhandila, penning a one-year deal with the Limpopo based outfit. The contract Mpeta has signed with TTM has an option to extend for another season.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the player who has previously played for Bafana Bafana has been without a club since 2019, when he left University of Pretoria.
"It feels great to be back. I am grateful to the Almighty and the president of the team, to the technical team and the players as well. We have a bunch of good players here. I am here to work, this is my home. I am actually liking it and it feels great to be back," Mpeta tells the Siya crew.
"I have been out for quite some time due to the pandemic and a lot of things that have been happening. I could not go for assessments, I could not go to teams because there was a time when teams were in the bio-bubble. It was beyond my control, but I made sure that I stayed fit and healthy for any opportunity that would come my way.
"Life was not easy. It was not soft, but we manage and we put things into places while we play. I have been doing other things apart from football, but to manage my life and to support my family."
