A representative of a player who has been released without making a single appearance for his team has opened up about the defender's frustrations.
After signing with Sekhukhune United in January, Luckyboy Mokoena hoped for regular game-time to revive his career.
The right-back had last played a competitive match for TS Galaxy in October, before parting ways with the club in December.
Mokoena's representative Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi from Rush Hour Sports Management says the decision to part ways with Babina Noko was initiated by him at the player's request.
"With regards to Luckyboy Mokoena's release from Sekhukhune United, together with the player, we asked for him to be allowed to move on. Let's be honest, the boy hasn't been playing and it is only fair that we look for other opportunities for him. The player has been telling me about his frustration due to lack of game-time and we had to do something for him. It can't be nice for any player when a teammate who plays in a different position is picked to play in your position ahead of you while you are there and fit to play," said Mulovhedzi.
"We would like to thank Luxolo Matikinca (Sekhukhune general manager) for way our request was handled. Mr Matikinca discussed the matter with the management after we told him about our request. The man's professionalism is commended, and you can tell that the guy has been in the game for long and Sekhukhune is in capable hands in him. His presence at the club will help others to also learn and gain experience in this game. When I approached Lux, I knew that he was the right person to communicate the player's message the way it is to club chairman Simon Malatji and CEO Jonas Malatji and that's exactly what happened, and we are grateful to him. Luckboy is the only player that didn't play at Sekhukhune this season and his frustration was understandable," he concluded.
