Letlotlo: I was released because of Coach Mogale

Letlotlo: I was released because of Coach Mogale

Former Kaizer Chiefs youngster Emmanuel Letlotlo has broken his silence on his unexpected axing at Royal AM.

The striker was given his clearance on Tuesday just two days after the GladAfrica Championship side parted ways with coach, Floyd Mogale after their draw with Free State Stars.

Speaking exclusively to the Siya crew, Letlotlo give details on what led to him losing his job in KwaZulu-Natal as it appeared that communicating with Mogale led to the termination of his contract with immediate effect.

"This is what happened... After our game against Free State Stars, they called a meeting immediately, they sacked the coach Floyd Mogale, they left assistant coach and goalkeeper coach," Letlotlo tells the Siya crew.

"During that meeting, they ordered us not to communicate with the coach. They warned us if they see anyone, that person will be fired.

"So they called me into a meeting on the Sunday They asked me if I still want to play because they suspected that I wasn't okay. I told them I'm good and stlll happy.

"They checked if I have a good relationship with coaches and I said, I don't have any issues with anyone, then we were cool and I thought everything is proper.

"Then Monday in training, I did everything and nothing was suspicious and then on Tuesday, got another call to a meeting and was given a termination letter and was told to sign on the spot.

"I think it was because I helped coach Mogale to pack his bags in the car. Were talking, nothing about football, I think that didn't impress the team and I'm really not angry at them, its just funny how I lost my job."

Letlotlo who had struggled to get a club before, added that he is not rushing to move on and he didn't want to reveal his plans, as he is still trying to process what happened in KZN.

"I can't comment on my next move for now."

The Siya crew made attempts to contact Royal AM but club officials remained unreachable.
