The Natal Rich Boyz got the equaliser in the 34th minute through Simphiwe Mcineka, who bundled the ball home from close range.

Richards Bay did not have wait too long to find a second goal as Sakhile Hlongwa fired home from distance four minutes later.

Serame Moeketsi's charges were given a lifeline on 68 minutes after being awarded a penalty, which was converted by Tebogo Reed and ultimately sent the game to another penalty shoot-out.

The lead did not last too long as the GladAfrica Championship outfit managed to pull themselves level from the penalty spot six minutes later, with Issa Sarr converting from 12 yards out.

Uthongathi then took the lead just before the hour mark through Thato Mohlamme, before Middendorp introduced Lefa Hlongwane, Ryan Rae and Riyaaz Ismail as a response.
