Knowledge Musona

With it being confirmed that Knowledge Musona wants to continue his career in Europe next season, it is apparent that his potential exit could really hurt Kaizer Chiefs in the striking department.

The Zimbabwe ace was the club's leading scorer in all competitions in 2013/14 with 16 goals, and his absence with injury really seemed to impact Chiefs in the final weeks of the campaign.

Nonetheless, with a return to Europe being his main intention in 2014/15, the Glamour Boys may have to start planning for life without their livewire striker.

According to our exclusive Soccer Laduma stats, powered by Prozone, Musona's potential absence will undoubtedly leave a gaping hole in the club's attack.

It's clear in the numbers why Musona's contribution was so immense – he took the second most number of shots in the PSL in 2013/14. He also made the third highest penalty area entries into the box as well. This indicates he successfully finds a target in the box regularly, and this shows his versatility as a creator and a goalscorer.

His impressive 81.34% passing success rate is also incredibly impressive given that strikers are often surrounded by tacklers close to the final third. His well-rounded game is also shown by his tackle and interception numbers – the Norton-born Ace averages 2.42 tackles as well as 3.63 interceptions per match. These stats illustrate his workrate, hunger and commitment.

Perhaps the best indicator of Musona's top pedigree is the 16 goals he scored in all competitions, including in the African continental competitions. From these stats it's conclusive to see why Musona's exit could really hurt Chiefs in 2014/15 – he's a top performer in virtually every way, and this is not something that any team will find it easy to cope without.
