Former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns striker Kermit Erasmus could make his debut in the Motsepe Foundation Championship this afternoon.
The experienced striker penned a deal with Casric Stars, who confirmed the deal last week, and could make his debut for the club when they host JDR Stars this afternoon at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium.

The Siya crew has been informed that Erasmus has travelled with the team and is expected to be in the matchday squad. It's understood that Erasmus has been doing a lot of extra work to get himself in good shape to earn his place in the team and the technical team could give him an opportunity to make his debut for the club currently in a good position to challenge for promotion at the end of the campaign.
Casric are in sixth position on the Championship standings on 24 points, seven behind log leaders Durban City after 16 matches. With 14 matches to go, they still have a shot of winning automatic promotion or qualifying for the end of season playoffs. With Erasmus added to the squad at this crucial stage of the campaign, there's reason to believe that they can make a serious push to finally get themselves into the topflight of local football.
Erasmus' experience could also be valuable against a club like JDR, who are in second position. JDR have a kept a clean sheet in their last two away matches and Casric would need someone capable of opening up the visitors' rearguard.
