Other new signings such as James Kotei, Kearyn Baccus and Kabelo Dlamini found themselves on the bench for the encounter, but weren't able to get on the field before the final whistle as the Buccaneers ran out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Augustine Mulenga and Thembinkosi Lorch.

Next up for the Soweto giants are clashes against Highlands Park (for Chiefs) and Bloemfontein Celtic (for Pirates) as they get their 2019/20 seasons underway in the Absa Premiership this weekend, and there could be plenty of competitive debuts to come for both clubs.
