Former Orlando Pirates winger Joseph Ngake has shared his memories of the late Bheka Phakathi who tragically passed away in a car accident this past Sunday morning.

Ngake who was a teammate of Phakathi during their spell at the Buccaneers in the early 2000's recalls Phakathi's dedication to the game of football.
"I remember during our days at Pirates, Bheka was so committed to his craft. He and I were never skilful dribbling players but he was committed," said Ngake.
"He had football brain in that as much as he was a midfielder in the latter stages of his career he played a striker. In midfield he was very uncompromising. Both on and off the field Bheka was committed to everything he did, he was committed to his team, his friends and family, I miss that about him."
"It's going to take a while for me and those closest to him to accept that he is no longer with us. Bheka was still active in the game and so much to teach, I just feel for his boys and the team that he was coaching.

"I know that he will find eternal peace where he is. I send my condolences to his family, his colleagues and all those who knew him and where his life," concluded Ngake.
At the time of his untimely death Phakathi was the head coach of Umvoti FC in the ABC Motsepe League as was scheduled to play in the national play-offs following having led his side the top of the an impressive season which saw his side lose just once in the 2017/18 season.
