Molefi Ntseki 's Amajimbos ended their tour of Lesotho on a high note, beating Lesotho 1-0 at Setsoto Stadium on Sunday to compete a double over the Mountain Kingdom country.
The South African side started the better of the two teams and their efforts paid off in the 22nd minute of the game, when Vuyo Mkatshana broke the deadlock for the opening goal of the match.
The Amajimbos striker utilised a good cross to put his side ahead early in the first half.
Samuel Nkomo also had a good chance to double the score, but was denied by Lesotho goalkeeper, Monaheng Ramalefane.
Lesotho also had a few good chances to go level, but were kept at check by Amajimbos' defence marshalled by Keano Cupido, while goalkeeper Mondli Mpoto also made good saves to keep his team in the lead.
The match went to the half time break with Amajimbos still enjoying 1-0 lead.
Amajimbos again started the better of the two sides in the second half, but failed to create clear goal scoring chances.
The struggle in front of goals led to a few changes that saw Ntseki making a double change and bringing in Felix Noge and Charles Baloyi, and taking off Vuyo Mantjie and Sibongankonke Mbatha.
Both teams produced many chances in the second half, however could not find the back of the net and saw Amajimbos winning through the first half goal scored by Mkatshana.
Amajimbos coach, Ntseki, praised his team for continuing with their good form as the prepare for the African youth championship qualifiers.
"The two matches in Lesotho helped us a lot to prepare for our qualifiers against Tanzania. Lesotho have a very good side and managed to give my boys a good test," said Ntseki.
"I'm satisfied with the results from both matches as it helped to see our weaknesses and strengths going forward," he said.
Ntseki said he is confident the friendly matches against Botswana and Lesotho have helped a lot to prepare his team mentally and physically.
The victory was the fourth straight friendly win for Amajimbos in ten days in the build-up to next weekend's first-leg 2015 African Youth Championship qualifier against Tanzania.
