In This Week’s Edition Of Soccer Laduma

In anticipation of this week's 1400th edition of Soccer Laduma, we preview some of the features included. The latest edition will be available at your nearest outlet on Thursday, 14th November 2024.

NASREDDINE NABI

After a flying start to his reign at Kaizer Chiefs, Nasreddine Nabi's side is now on a run of one win in five matches. In the Betway Premiership, it's just one point from the last three rounds of action. It appears that some momentum has been lost, and the surprise factor has worn off to a degree. In this feature, we take a look at the tactical decisions and personnel questions for the Tunisian-Belgian coach to overcome. Having 25 days between fixtures and only three players away on international duty gives a perfect time to iron out some issues. Which tactical ploys will the coach be working on? Soccer Laduma investigates.

SIYA SPECIAL

While the excitement levels in the PSL have been notably high this season following the progress of exciting young talent at different clubs, their emergence seems to be at the cost of the experienced players. This season, the list of experienced free agents has grown to a point where they can easily form a strong starting line-up to give several clubs in the Betway Premiership a run for their money. Former Chiefs number one goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, Kermit Erasmus, and Bongani Zungu, to name just a few, are some of the players who can easily become regular starters in any team, but sadly they are currently unattached. Where has it all gone wrong?

UGANDA-BAFANA PREVIEW

Bafana Bafana and Uganda square up in a Group K top-of-the-table clash in Kampala on Friday and some already call it a do-or-die encounter for coach Hugo Broos' charges. Three points are at stake and Bafana Bafana have a point to prove, having been held to a 2-all draw the last time the two sides met in Johannesburg. Soccer Laduma asked former Bafana Bafana internationals Benedict Vilakazi, Lucas Radebe, and Lebohang Mokoena to share their views on Bafana's run so far in the qualifiers, coach Broos' squad, as well as lessons from the two sides' previous matches.

Dino Ndlovu

Dino Ndlovu is currently working his way back to fitness, so that he can find a club and do what he loves doing the most, which is playing football. An injury to his knee recently denied him an opportunity to secure another move in Europe, but he has been working hard to ensure he puts himself in the market after leaving Turkish second-tier club Sakaryaspor at the end of last season. The 34-year-old spent almost his entire career playing abroad and has an impressive CV which has put him in a good position to always find a club abroad. In this interview with Soccer Laduma, Ndlovu opens up about his recovery, why it's not always easy to find a club in South Africa, and addresses the Kaizer Chiefs links he had not so long ago.

International Feature

As the Erik ten Hag era at the Theatre of Dreams officially reaches its curtain call, a new protagonist has taken centre stage at the home of the Red Devils: Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese tactician was recently confirmed as Manchester United's new head coach, and with the youthful football mastermind poised to take charge of the Mancunians after the conclusion of the ongoing international break, Soccer Laduma delved into how the two destinies converged. Soccer Laduma takes a look at the genesis of the Lisbon native's coaching career, his tactical philosophy, and how the Premier League outfit successfully lured him away from Sporting CP.

Revolving Column

This week we hear from Lifa Baskiti of the Cookhouse Wind Farm on the Gender Based Violence tournament.

Siyagobhoza

In this week's edition of the popular Siyagobhoza section, there is news on Sundowns opening fresh contract talks with Sphelele Mkhulise, Pirates showing interest in Lehlohonolo Mojela and TS Galaxy expressing interest in Keagan Dolly.
