EDMILSON DOVE
After three years at Kaizer Chiefs, Mozambican international Edmilson Dove has bid farewell to the Soweto giants, but not without reflecting deeply on what the journey meant to him. In this heartfelt conversation with Soccer Laduma, the versatile defender opens up about fulfilling a childhood dream, the emotional goodbye, his gratitude towards the club and its supporters, and what lies ahead in his football career. Dove, affectionately known for his composure on and off the field, speaks with sincerity about the highs, the struggles, and the legacy he hopes to leave behind.
KAIZER CHIEFS
Cape Town Spurs’ relegation from the Motsepe Foundation Championship to the ABC Motsepe League did not come without any controversy. While the club was trying to hold onto their status in the boardroom with some issues they raised with the PSL, their players were attracting attention elsewhere. Kaizer Chiefs snapped up Luke Baartman and Asanele Velebayi, while AmaZulu FC have welcomed Liam Bern to pre-season training in Polokwane, as the players believe their contracts with Spurs have come to an end by virtue of the Cape outfit being deemed an amateur club. Spurs have come out to publicly state that they expect the players back in training to prepare for the new season, saying that their contracts should be honoured. Soccer Laduma looks into the matter to see if Spurs have a leg to stand on in this matter, or if Chiefs and AmaZulu should be worried.
SIYA SPECIAL
A new chapter in South African football is taking shape in the Free State. With Siwelele FC set to debut in the Betway Premiership following their purchase of SuperSport United’s top flight status, all eyes are on how the club plans to navigate the challenges that come with such a major transition. While the name may be new, much of the structure remains intact, at least for now. The Siya crew has been closely following developments behind the scenes as Siwelele gear up for its first season, from key decisions at boardroom level to trialists hoping to make the squad. What’s emerging is a club intent on building something sustainable, while also trying to establish a new identity in South African football.

Doudy James
For many years, Doudy James operated in the shadows—watching, waiting, and working while others took the spotlight. At Mamelodi Sundowns, he honed his craft quietly, gaining experience from seasoned professionals and sharpening his game behind the scenes. While some of his peers made the leap to the senior team, James’ journey was more patient, more measured. Now, after signing his first professional contract with Marumo Gallants, the dynamic right wing-back is finally stepping into the light. This is a story of perseverance, belief, and timing. In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, James opens up about his development, his influences, and why he’s ready to announce himself on South African football’s biggest stage.

It’s been four years since towering shot-stopper Peter Leeuwenburgh left South African shores — and Cape Town City specifically — to continue his ever-growing career at the highest level in Europe. An ever-present figure between the sticks during his three-year stint in the Mother City, Cape Town still holds a special place in the Dutchman’s heart. Soccer Laduma, recently caught up with the 31-year-old to discuss life after the PSL, going up against Bafana Bafana star Mihlali Mayambela in Cyprus, the relegation of his former club, and the lasting impact Benni McCarthy had on his career.
