By leaving Mamelodi Sundowns and becoming a free agent, Hlompho Kekana has joined a list of veteran footballers who are clubless but have not lost hope of finding new homes.
Kekana's time at Sundowns was confirmed to be over last week by the Chloorkop outfit, as he bid farewell to the club after serving them with aplomb for a period of 10 years, in which he won everything but the MTN8. Now, as he waits for his next move, the 36-year-old is part of a group of veteran free agents on the market and hoping for one last hurrah.
Wayne Arendse, who left Sundowns early last season after serving the club for eight years, recently spoke to the Siya crew, saying he wants to play, but could consider bringing an end to his career
A former teammate of Kekana, 35-year-old Asavela Mbekile, is also looking to make a return to topflight football after parting ways with Stellenbosch.

Anthony Laffor, 36, another former teammate of Kekana, is still keen on playing football at a professional level, but no concrete offers have come his way, the Siya crew has been informed.
Siphiwe Tshabalala, 37, has been without a club since leaving AmaZulu, but has also not announced that he has retired. The Siya crew reported a few months ago that he was offered to Swallows FC, but no deal was secured.
Thabo Nthethe, 37, and Abia Nale, 35, have also not called an end to their careers.
