Newly appointed head of referees, Abdul Ebrahim, has paid a glowing tribute to match officials in the Premier Soccer League.

"Here and there, you would find errors but to err is only human, especially in the sporting environment. There is nowhere in the world where you would get a situation which has no mistakes," Ebrahim was quoted on the SAFA official website.
"That said, I think the match officials did the country and the association proud. Coming from a five-month lay-off and to perform the way they did, I can only say well done to the officials."

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns are both tied on 53 points, with Amakhosi leading the log table thanks to a superior goal difference.

"The match officials have no time to put their feet up. Once this season comes to an end, the new one begins almost immediately and that means all officials have to maintain their high fitness levels all the time," Ebrahim concluded.
