Orlando Pirates defender says if Oupa Manyisa were to leave Orlando Pirates at this stage, it would come as a blow to the team.
Manyisa has been linked with a move away from Pirates for some time now, with initial reports indicating that he has attracted attention from as far as Egypt. Al Ahly, who beat Bucs in the final of the Caf Champions League, were said to be keen to bring him to Cairo, but nothing concrete materialised from those reports.
More lately, Soccer Laduma has learnt that Mamelodi Sundowns are in a shock bid for the signature of 'Ace', who apparently has a price tag of R28.5 million on his head.
His teammate Gcaba has come out in praise of the hard-running midfielder, saying he does not want to think about the prospect of losing the Randfontein-born player to their archrivals. He told the Siya crew, "It would be a big blow to us (if he were to leave) because Manyisa has been a key player for the team.
"That guy is a workaholic. He works week in and week out. He doesn't complain and all he wants is to get game time. If he leaves the team, it would be a big blow because he's been a huge inspiration to a lot of us," he added.
The Mayfair-based outfit's players and technical team are expected to report for preseason at the end of June and, with each passing day, Bucs fans will be keen to know if Manyisa will be staying or leaving as the 2014/15 season looms large.
