Former Mamelodi Sundowns star, Joel 'Fire' Masilela revealed to the Siya crew how humble his former late team-mate, Bennett Masinga was.
Masinga passed away last week following a short illness at his home in Klerksdorp, North West. Masilela, who teamed up with the late Bennito at Sundowns during the 90's, told the Siya crew that he will remember Masinga as someone who was friendly and loved his job.

"Bennito was very kind, humble, friendly and hard-working when it comes to his job. He was always jolly when we were not playing but a person you can look up to when we're in the field of play. The guy respected his career. He was a family man, loved his wife and kids as well," said Masilela.
According to Fire, Bennito always ensured that every player at Sundowns was at home and that everyone saw a brother in one another. He ensured that we respected the team and our careers and was tremendously disciplined.
"The way we played at Sundowns showed how united we were as a team. The guy loved his soccer and it was evident in his performances, he played with his heart. He is a true legend and I will always cherish the moments we spent at Sundowns. To his cousin, Philemon, I want to tell him that he must be strong, God has chosen to take him from us, they just have to be strong and move on.

"To all my former teammates at Sundowns, we just have to be strong, we are all God's children and he will decide when to take us. Phil must be proud of his cousin, the guy made his mark in football, he made a name for himself. He left the legacy and we will always remember him. I'd also like to advise the current crop of players to respect their careers, never mind how much they get paid, they must look after themselves," added Fire.
Bennito will be laid to rest tomorrow morning in Klerksdorp at the New Anglican Church.
Soccer-Laduma wishes to convey its condolences to the Masinga family, friends and Sundowns.
