After a chaotic week in which almost the entire FC Cape Town technical team allegedly walked out on the club, Tomas Trucha has been linked to the vacant head coach role.
Last Friday, the club's Technical Director John Comitis was spotted taking a training session, but today (Monday) the 41-year-old Trucha, who hails from the Czech Republic and was with Safa Second Division FC Tigerberg last season, is expected to take charge.
"Trucha should train the team at Blue Downs this afternoon," club CEO Edward Gray told Soccer-Laduma. "I think he'll be the new coach as we were unable to find someone local. My boss (Errol Dicks) did call Boebie Solomons but that didn't work out."
The biggest obstacle for Dicks is to ensure that Trucha obtains his work permit as soon as possible, so it'll be interesting to see if he's on the bench or in the stands on Sunday for the match against Baroka FC.
