A brace from Bradley Grobler guided ten-man SuperSport United to a 2-0 win over Black Leopards in their DStv Premiership opener on Saturday.
Kaitano Tembo went for two strikers up top as Thamsanqa Gabuza joined Grobler in the attack while Keenan Phillips was handed a start.
After nine minutes played, there was a delay in the game due to the bad weather at the stadium but play eventually resumed after 21h30.
Once the game resumed, SuperSport drew first blood in the 30th minute thanks to a strike from the club's top scorer last season Bradley Grobler.
The hosts nearly bagged a second goal just before the halftime break as Teboho Mokoena rattled the crossbar with a free-kick.
SuperSport were then reduced to 10 men in the 65th minute when Onismor Bhasera was sent off after picking up his second yellow card of the game.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, SuperSport were still on the hunt for a second goal as Jamie Webber was denied by Jonas Mendes.
However, Grobler sealed the win in second-half time with his second and SuperSport's second goal of the game.
