DStv Premiership Report: SuperSport United v Baroka 01 May 2021

Result: SuperSport United 1-1 Baroka

Date: 01 May 2021

Venue: Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium

SuperSport United have now gone 10 matches without a win in the DStv Premiership after being held to a 1-1 draw by Baroka FC.

Matsatsantsa then made their intentions known as a weighted ball from Sipho Mbule allocated Kudakwashe Mahachi to apply a low finish underneath goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke.

More chances came United's way as the half-hour mark approached with Keenan Phillips going over from a shot outside the box after a ball from Mbule.

Baroka began to show up more and in pure spectacular fashion threatened the equaliser from an acrobatic overhead kick on 35 minutes by Richard Mbulu, but Pule saved.

The host still managed to carve more chances seven minutes later with a powerful effort from Bradley Grobler amongst others, but Masuluke was on hand.

Matsimela Thoka's charges made a renewed start to the second stanza as Kambala drilled a rasping shot into the side-netting, while Teboho Mokoena send Mbule's delivery from a free-kick wide.

Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphahlele continued to trouble Matsatsantsa in the midway phase of the half as a header from Evidence Makgopa from a delivery into the six-yard area went wide.

Kaitano Tembo ran changes inside the last 20 minutes and introduced Iqraam Rayners for the energetic Guily Manziba.

Baroka were rewarded for their resilience 12 minutes from time after a deflected shot from Mbulu wrong-footed Pule for the equaliser to leave United sixth and Bakgaga tenth on the table.
