Result: Golden Arrows 1-1 TS Galaxy

Date: 18 December 2021

Venue: Princess Magogo Stadium

The Rockets made four changes to the side that lost against Orlando Pirates as they recalled Mcbeth Mahlangu, Sphiwe Mahlangu, Mlungisi Mbunjana and a first start for Carlos Leon while Arrows brought back Siboniso Conco.

The sides were enterprising in the opening exchanges and Sinethemba Mngomezulu had a chance to open the scoring in the 13th minute after going through on goal but he dragged his shot wide.

Arrows were also threatening, as Nqobeko Dlamini carved out space on the edge of the box and fired a strike that was saved by goalkeeper Marlon Heugh after 32 minutes.

Galaxy had a chance to break the deadlock just before the half-time break after Michael Gumede went through on goal but his shot was saved by Heugh.

Sead Ramovic's charges had a perfect start in the second stanza as Wayde Lekay eventually broke the deadlock seven minutes from the break with a tap-in after he was setup by Sphiwe Mahlangu from a counter-attack.

However, Galaxy's lead was short-lived as Sbonelo Cele levelled matters for Lehlohonolo Seema's troops three minutes later with a free-kick from the edge of the box.

Arrows brought on Knox Mutizwa in place of Conco upfront in the 67th minute and Mutizwa had a big chance to net the winner for the hosts after they were awarded a penalty ten minutes before time for a handball but his spot-kick missed over the bar.

Abafana Bes'thende thought they had eventually snatched the winner five minutes before time after finding the back of the net but the goal was disallowed for a foul on Heugh, as the sides settled for a share of the spoils in the end.
