Cole Alexander Should Be Fine For SuperSport United

Cole Alexander
SuperSport United midfielder, Cole Alexander, was taken off against Orlando Pirates as a precaution during the club's emphatic 6-1 win on Tuesday. Read: Mhlongo's Red Card Confusion Explained Alexander lasted just 17 minutes of only his second start for Matsatsantsa since his move from Polokwane City, with injuries having blighted his start to life in Tshwane under Stuart Baxter. The 27-year-old made his first start for SuperSport last week in the 2-0 win over Ajax Cape Town, with Baxter opting to leave him in the squad to take on the Buccaneers a few days later. However, just over 15 minutes into the clash with Pirates, Cole could be seen holding his hamstring and was subsequently hauled off by his head coach prior to any of the seven goals that were eventually scored in the game. The good news for Baxter, though, is that Alexander's injury is not believed to be a serious one, with the decision to take him off being a precautionary move so as not to exacerbate the niggle that he was feeling. He is expected to be out for around 10 days. It remains to be seen whether the former Ajax Cape Town man will retain his spot in the XI against Mamelodi Sundowns this weekend, although Thabo Mnyamane's performance against Pirates will no doubt have given Baxter a bit of a headache.
