As Orlando Pirates prepare to continue with their impressive form of late which has seen them move to third place on the log standings and revive their chances in the title race, their next opponents have confirmed having no plans to train for the fixture.
Pirates have had stars like Gabadinho Mhango and Tshegofatso Mabasa back in the matchday squad in the previous match against Bloemfontein Celtic on Tuesday after their respective injuries, while others are expected to further strengthen Josef Zinnbauer's squad for the Chippa United clash, however, Dan Malesela who will be on the opposite bench in Gqeberha doesn't seem bothered.
Instead, Malesela has confirmed that after the back-to-back matches against Cape Town City in cup and the league respectively, he has no plans to train his side for the Pirates fixture.
The Chilli Boys knocked Citizens out of the Nedbank Cup on Sunday at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, while the trip to Mdantsane at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium on Wednesday earned the team a vital point.
With Chippa still in the bottom half of the log, Malesela needs no reminder about how important it will be for the team to win the Pirates match, though the congestion of fixtures is affecting his planning.
"I don't think we will even train because we've almost used the whole squad. What we need to do for Pirates is to just go home and rest. Maybe, we meet on Friday and go to the hotel and see. But we will plan properly for this (squad rotation). We will see how we plan for this thing and plan for Pirates," said Malesela, speaking to the media.
"It's going to be difficult to play Pirates, they have a huge squad and they can change at any given time but what we need here is just the character that we showed when we were on the road. We have built to that, now we are here, and we need to continue building and getting ourselves better," the coach said.
