Mashamplani, as the midfielder is known in football circles, impressed Malesela and his technical team during his trial with the Port Elizabeth outfit.
The player's representative, Tseki Pule, confirmed to the Siya crew that a deal for his cousin to turn out for the Chilli Boys has been completed.
"I can confirm that Tumiso Mogakwe has signed with Chippa United. The deal was finalised yesterday (Monday). He has signed a short-term deal to run until the end of the season. The boy is excited for signing with the club. I've been trying to get him a club for some time. In my previous attempts to get him a club, I took him to Ajax Cape Town as well as FC Cape Town, among other clubs. He was almost signed by Ajax, but unfortunately there were changes of coaches at the club when he was there and that affected the proposed deal.
"Following his trial with Ajax, he went back to Sundowns where he had been training and playing in the ABC Motsepe League. Dan Dance knows the player from the development of Sundowns. The boy has been training with Chippa and it was decided yesterday that he should be signed," said Pule.
Pule, who is the brother of former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates star Jabu Mahlangu, has offered words of encouragement to the 25-year-old as he begins new life with a club in the PSL.

"God has answered after all the attempts to get the boy a club. I told him yesterday, 'Chief, make sure that you make use of this opportunity. There aren't many opportunities like this. You know how difficult it has been for us to get you a club. You know how close it was for Ajax to sign you. May the Lord be with you. Please focus so that you can get a long-term contract for next season.' Jabu (Mahlangu) has also been encouraging him," concluded Pule.
