Kaizer Chiefs have not renewed Mandla Masango's contract, and this could mean that they will be looking to fill the void left by the midfielder with the signature of outgoing Mamelodi Sundowns man Elias Pelembe.

Masango's contract with the Glamour Boys expired at the end of June and Chiefs' football manager, Bobby Motaung, is understood to have ruled out the possibility of the player returning to the club.
The departure of the Bafana Bafana star leaves a gaping hole in Chiefs' midfield as well as in their cheque book, it is likely that a substantial amount of revenue that would have gone to paying Masango's salary will now become available.
Pelembe, who was one of the highest payed players in Mzansi, has just seen his contract expire with Sundowns at the end of June, and the club have made it clear that he will not be offered a new one.
The 31-year-old Mozambican has attracted the interest of both SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits but both clubs are reported to have been put off by his wage demands.

The ageing winger is going to have to take a significant pay cut in any case, and Chiefs will be looking to land a coup and capture the free agent's signature.
It is predicted that the Naturena-based outfit would be able to raise or at least meet the offers from SuperSport or Wits, and the prestige of a club like Chiefs is also likely to factor into Pelembe's considerations.
