A club that has produced so many players over the years is in danger of going down to the ABC Motsepe League, which would be a big loss not only for the Mother City, but South African football.
It's been a disastrous campaign for the club, with just six victories in their 29 league matches, as they go into the final weekend of the season lying dangerously in 15th place. They are on 30 points, level with Venda FC who are a place above them on the standings.
Spurs have one last chance to save themselves, but the mission will not be an easy one, considering they are playing against a club that's chasing automatic promotion.
They host top of the table side Durban City at Athlone Stadium. City need just a point to secure automatic promotion, though there is a pending case at the PSL DC which could have a say in who goes up to the Betway Premiership without having to go into the play offs.
City will no doubt be determined to secure a win, to gives themselves a good chance of being promoted, especially if the case goes against them.

Spurs will have the biggest 90 minutes of their lives, knowing that there is no room for error. Should they lose, a club known for developing youngsters and bringing the community together, will no longer be a member of the PSL.
There are not many clubs that go down to the ABC Motsepe League and return to professional football.
