A newly signed striker at one of the DStv Premiership clubs that have had a slow start to the season has made a bold promise to his team.
Following their disappointing start to the season, with the team still in search of their first victory for the campaign, Cape Town City decided to reinforce the team by bringing in striker Wayde Lekay who signed earlier this week.

The 25-year-old former TS Galaxy forward was handed his debut as a second-half substitute in Eric Tinkler's side in the 0-0 draw against Maritzburg United on Tuesday.
With the Citizens finalising their preparations for Saturday's derby against high-flying Stellenbosch FC, Lekay has promised that he is the man that the team has been looking for all along for goals.
"I just joined Cape Town City FC and I think it's a thought that's always been in my mind and I'm just grateful to God for creating the opportunity. I'm excited to join a team in my hometown and I think I can contribute a lot in terms of scoring goals and creating goals and that's obviously what the coaches and the technical team want from me. I'm looking forward to the season, and on a personal level it's just to bang in as much goals as I can for the club and reach the targets and the goals set by the club," said Lekay, speaking through the club's media department.

"We have a derby coming on Saturday at Cape Town Stadium, so it's an important one for us. The club needs the first victory and I think there is no more motivation that we need for this one. It's a perfect stage to get your first win, it's a derby and all the boys are excited, and everyone is energised and ready for this encounter. It's going to be a good one and it's going to be very intense, I feel. But for the club itself and our goals, it's a perfect stage to get our first three points of the season," added the Cape Town-born player.
