Bongani Zungu has stated that he is eager to 'experience' football in other countries, and the Siya crew understands that an Egyptian team has made an enquiry regarding his services.
The talented midfielder is seemingly weighing up his options amid interest from several clubs in South Africa as well as abroad, and he is set to decide on his future in the coming weeks.
As reported in edition 1277 of Soccer Laduma, Al Ahly, coached by Pitso Mosimane, have become the latest team to join the race for the signature of one of the finest free agents around, after Zungu parted ways with French Ligue 2 side Amiens SC last month.
In a radio interview with SABC Sport, Zungu said; "I am a guy that takes risks ever since I was young. I always want to move and take risks.
"At the end of the day, this football thing will come to an end one day, so why not try to experience other countries, football elsewhere and try new things," added Zungu, who has played in SA for Mamelodi Sundowns and had stints in Portugal, Scotland, and France.
Ahly could be a destination for Zungu, and according to the Siya crew, it could come down to who offers the Duduza-born star a lucrative deal, as it might be his final massive contract.
Other teams interested in the 29-year-old include Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Israel Premier League giants in Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Tel Aviv, with the player not yet closing the door on a return to Europe.
