With his fond memories of the Soweto Derby still lingering long after his spell at Kaizer Chiefs, national team coach Stuart Baxter offered his insights ahead of his former team hosting rivals Orlando Pirates on Saturday.
"Every derby that I was part of was memorable, but at times didn't live up to the expectations," the Bafana coach told the Siya crew.
"I have a feeling that this is going to be a great derby. I think at Pirates, Micho (Sredojevic) and Rhulani (Mokwena) have been moving towards a new way of playing. Not overplaying, and yet still having the speed and the technical ability that has been Pirates' trademark over the years. I think they are in a good space."

What about his former team Amakhosi, who have failed to win the last three Soweto Derbies under two different coaches – Steve Komphela, who replaced Baxter at the club in 2015, and Giovanni Solinas, the Italian mentor who was sacked in December last year for a string of poor results.
"Ernst (Middendorp, the most recent appointment at Chiefs) has come in and structured them up a little bit better. And there is a more positive atmosphere. So they are also going to be fancying themselves – a little bit quietly. I think it has all the ingredients of a good derby."
