Chippa United have confirmed the signing of highly-rated defender, Ayabulela Konqobe, on a long-term contract. Read: AmaZulu Snap Up Chippa Striker The 21-year-old has penned a three-year deal after agreeing terms with the Chilli Boys, putting to bed the issues about his contractual situation that involved AmaZulu before. Chippa Mpengesi said previously that he would get the centre back on board for the new season, and he has now shown that he was not about to let it slide. Mpengesi confirmed the signing, saying in a press release, "I would like to welcome Konqobe to Chippa United Football Club. In Konqobe we have no doubt we have signed one of the top young centre backs in the country and he will help us strengthen our defense. I would like to wish him all the best in the blue and white of Chippa United." Meanwhile, they also announced that - as reported earlier - Rhulani Manzini has joined AmaZulu.
