Venue: Old Peter Mokaba
Polokwane City's eight-game unbeaten run in the Absa Premiership came to an end after losing 2-1 to Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday evening.
Celtic were eager to return to winning ways after their last league clash with Cape Town City was abandoned due crowd trouble.
It was the visitors who saw a lot of the ball in the early stages of the encounter, but they were unable to turn that dominance into chances.
The deadlock was broken on 24 minutes as Jabulani Maluleke collected a pass from Mohammed Anas before firing past Patrick Tignyemb.
Just over 10 minutes later, the away side managed to find the equaliser thanks to a strike from Kabelo Dlamini as the sides went in to the break level pegging.
After a quiet start to the start, the game sprung into life after the hour mark when Celtic were reduced to 10 men after Given Mashikinya was shown a straight red for a dangerous tackle.
The visitors were then awarded a penalty with 12 minutes remaining, however veteran forward Ndumiso Mabena saw his penalty saved by George Chigova.
However, Mabena made up for his error as he netted the winning goal deep into second-half stoppage time to end Polokwane's eight-game unbeaten run.
