United created the first chance when Reneilwe Letsholonyane slipped Ghampani Lungu through on goal, but he was superbly denied at close range by goalkeeper Nkosingiphile Gumede.

Gumede was at his best again in the tenth minute, making an acrobatic save to tip a long-range free-kick from Aubrey Modiba onto the crossbar.

The next decent effort on goal only came on the half hour mark when James Keene met a Modiba cross into the box, but his header went inches wide of the target from 12-yards out.

Arrows first real threat on goal only came in the 37th minute when Lerato Lamola tried his luck from long-range, but goalkeeper Ronwen Williams make a good save to deny him.

United managed to break the deadlock two minutes before the break when Gumede spilt a cross into the path of Keene who headed the ball home from close-range despite the efforts of Nkosinathi Sibisi to clear the ball off the line, 1-0.

Modiba nearly doubled United's lead five minutes into the second half, but his stinging 24-yard shot shaved the wrong side of the post.

In the 68th minute Modiba was in the thick of the action again and actually struck the woodwork of the Arrows' goal with a shot from the edge of the box.

A minute later, though, and Arrows pulled level when a swift counter-attack concluded with Siboniso Conco's deflected shot finding the back of the net, 1-1.

In the 73rd minute Arrows nearly took the lead when Sibusiso Sibeko fired a powerful 20-yard shot goalwards, but Williams produced a great save after diving low to his left to make the fingertip stop.

Arrows threw players forward in the final ten minutes of the match, but SuperSport soaked up the pressure and held on for the draw.
