Kaizer Chiefs will have to do without the services of integral midfielder, Willard Katsande, against Mpumalanga Black Aces this weekend as he serves his suspension.
The Amakhosi hardman picked up his first yellow card of the Absa Premiership season in the 0-0 draw with Jomo Cosmos on Tuesday, however it was his fourth card in all competitions.
Katsande, 28, has played six of Chiefs’ seven league games so far this campaign, as well as playing in five cup games, and his absence will no doubt be felt by head coach, Steve Komphela.
The Zimbabwean’s natural replacement, Ivan Bukenya, has been playing at centre back with Erick Mathoho of late, however Katsande’s absence is likely to see the Ugandan pushed forward, with Lorenzo Gordinho coming in to partner ‘Tower’.
Katsande was only given five bookings in 34 games in all domestic competitions last season, however has been handed four in 11 this year, something that will be a worrying statistic for the Amakhosi faithful.
