Argentina coach Edgardo Bauza has confirmed that he has dropped Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero for the crunch 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against rivals Brazil.
Aguero: Messi Was Drug Tested At City
The Albiceleste currently only sit in sixth position in the South American World Cup qualifying group and are in danger of failing to qualify for Russia 2018.
Bauza has now explained his decision why Aguero will be on the bench for his country's crucial tie on Friday morning (1:45 SA time).
"I leaned towards Di Maria and Enzo Perez because I think that physically they will be able to keep up our rhythm," Bauza told reporters in Belo Horizonte a day before the match, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.
"Enzo Perez (Valencia) played in that position two years ago with the national team because it is the spot he first played in.
"More than anything I am thinking about our opponents, and that we cannot repeat the mistakes of other games in which we ended up broken."

Argentina have failed to win any of their last three games qualification games and will be hoping they can find back to winning ways in the Superclasico against their eternal rivals Brazil.
