With Stuart Baxter being confirmed as the new head coach of SuperSport United, he may be tempted to target some familiar faces from Naturena.
Baxter was announced as Gordon Igesund’s successor this morning, with the two-time Absa Premiership-winning coach set to begin life in Tshwane early next week as he looks to try and turn the club’s season around.
With that in mind, there are three of Baxter’s former players who are coming to the end of their contracts at Kaizer Chiefs, with Reyaad Pieterse, Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Morgan Gould all set to see their deals expire at the end of the 2015/16 campaign.
The Siya crew can confirm that none of the aforementioned players have signed new deals at Naturena as of yet, with Pieterse calling off talks and Gould yet to sign a new one-year deal that has been offered to him.
It remains to be seen whether Baxter would be keen to bring them to Matsatsantsa either before Friday’s deadline or for the start of next season, however the players themselves may be eager to reunite with their former coach.
The last January saw Stan Matthews and Igesund snatch Kingston Nkhatha from Baxter and the Amakhosi, and SuperSport may look to try and make a similar move this time around.
