The Orlando Pirates duo of Thabo Matlaba and Mpho Makola is to be assessed by the medical team on their return to the club.
The two players are expected to report back to the club today, following their involvement with Bafana Bafana in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The two players picked up injuries and missed the second leg of Bafana’s qualifiers with Cameroon on Tuesday. Speaking to the media at the Nedbank Cup press conference today, Eric Tinkler confirmed that the duo will be assessed on their arrival.
“Makola and Matlaba will be assessed when they come back this afternoon and the other players will be assessed upon their return,” said Tinkler.
The Pirates coach has also confirmed that Thandani Ntshumayelo and Rooi Mahamutsa are available for selection. Oupa Manyisa is back at training, although Tinkler has reiterated about not wanting to rush the midfielder and the team’s captain back into the thick of things.
The Buccaneers will be away to Jomo Cosmos for their Nedbank Cup last 16 game at Olen Park Stadium on Sunday.
