Kaizer Chiefs chairman, Kaizer Motaung, has explained the importance of the club reviewing the season and showing gratitude towards players who have contributed to the club’s history.
Chiefs held their annual end-of-season awards ceremony last night, June 01, where Siphiwe Tshabalala scooped the Player of the Season award and Ramahlwe Mphahlele picked up the Player’s Player of the Season accolade.

The Soweto giants ended their 2016/17 campaign in fourth place on the league standings and without any domestic silverware to add to the cabinet at Naturena.
However, speaking to Chiefs’ official website, Chairman Motaung revealed the importance of reviewing the Glamour Boys’ season and thinks that their disappointing results will serve as a learning curve for the team ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
“It is important for the club to review and take note of some of the highlights of the season and show appreciation to all involved in continuing to contribute to the rich history of this institution,” Chairman Motaung said.
“It is no secret we were found wanting when it mattered most during the season and the team failed to fulfil our desires and expectations. But learning the key lessons is always important after disappointing results because they will help us to pave the path for success next season,” he added.
