An employee of the funeral parlour involved in Maradona's wake took a picture of himself next to Maradona's corpse.

The image caused great commotion in Argentina after it appeared online, especially among the football icon's family and friends, with lawyer Matias Morla slamming the act publicly.

"Given the viral nature of an image of Diego on his deathbed, I'm going to personally try and find the scoundrel that took the photograph," Morla said, as quoted by Marca.

"All those responsible for such an act of cowardice are going to pay."
