Mamelodi Sundowns' youth development product, Avela Cezu, is reviving his career with Mthatha City in the ABC Motsepe League.

Cezu is one of the former PSL players that are currently on the books of the Eastern Cape outfit. The 22-year-old spent the 2015/16 season with AmaZulu in the National First Division, having been loaned to the club by Sundowns.

In February, when Cezu was still with AmaZulu during their NFD campaign last season, the KZN outfit announced the termination of his contract and that of Ayabulela Konqobe, during the former Ajax Cape Town and SA U20 player's time with the side.

The Durban-based side stated that the two players' contracts were terminated for their failure to adhere to the club's rules.

However, Usuthu later changed their minds regarding Cezu. The former PSL side announced in March that the player had been given a second chance at the club.

In an attempt to revive his career this season, the midfielder is playing for City, which is the third tier outfit from his hometown.

"It's true that Avela Cezu is with Mthatha City at the moment. He is the player who used to play in the Mamelodi Sundowns development. He is also from Mthatha," a source told the Siya crew.

Former Chippa United defender, Simphiwe Ndzimbovu, is also turning out for the Mthatha-based club this season.

The Pietermaritzburg-born player parted ways with Chippa at the end of last season, after only one season with the Port Elizabeth outfit.
