Four development players from Kaizer Chiefs have been sent packing after they failed to impress during a trial spell at National First Division side Vasco da Gama.
Centre back Nicolas Motloung, right winger Rulane Mnzunga, attacking midfielder Khotso Malupe and left back Ntsako Chauke all arrived in the Cape with the hope of impressing the club and securing professional contracts.

However, their trip did not go as planned and after only a few training sessions the quartet were asked to return back to Johannesburg. To rub salt into the wound Motloung had to return home on crutches after slipping and damaging his knee ligaments.
A source at the Parow-based club told Soccer Laduma, “That’s not what we are looking for. Apparently he came with an injury on the other side of his knee. Maybe Chiefs thought he’d recovered, but that’s not good enough for us and the other three are going to be sent back.”

Motloung is still hopeful he can kick-start his career and is not giving up hope. “I played three MultiChoice Diski Challenge games last season, so I want to continue my career,” he said.
