Result: Amazulu 1-0 Moroka Swallows
Date: 14 September 2013
Venue: Moses Mabhida Stadium
A first-half Bongani Ndulula goal was enough for Amazulu to beat Moroka Swallows 1-0 and move up to second in the PSL table.
Edward Manqele had two early great chances to give Swallows the lead, but his first went wide of the goal, and his second minutes later, was well saved by Tapuwa Kapini in the Amazulu goal.
In the 23rd minute though it was Amazulu who took the lead through Bongani Ndulula, who finished well after a good run from Nkosinathi Mthiyane who beat two defenders before setting up the big striker.
Ndulula almost had a second in the 38th minute but his shot went just wide of Greg Etafia's goal.
Swallows almost scored a minute later after a great run by Dikgang Mabalane but a little touch on the cross by Kapini saw the ball evade all of Swallows attackers, and the follow-up shot was well blocked.
Lerato Chabangu had a chance to equalize from a free kick just before half-time, but his shot went over, and at the end of an entertaining first-half Usuthu led 1-0.
The second-half saw few clear cut opportunities for both sides, and Amazulu held onto the lead, for their first home win of the season.
